As a dedicated PGA of Canada Professional since 2004, I have had the privilege of serving as the Head Golf Professional at Paradise Canyon, contributing to the golf community’s growth and development. Hailing from Lethbridge, where I was born and raised, I’ve accumulated over 20 years of teaching experience. In recognition of my commitment to golf education, I earned the title of a Top 5 Teacher in both 2020 and 2021 by the PGA of Alberta.

Throughout my two-decade tenure at the Paradise Canyon Golf Club, I’ve not only honed my skills but also had the opportunity to design and execute the Junior Program at 9 hole facility in Pincher Creek, Alberta for 4 years. Further demonstrating my passion for fostering young talent, I designed and operated the Paradise Canyon Junior Program from 2004-2015. My extensive experience and dedication to golf education underscore my commitment to cultivating a love for the sport among enthusiasts of all ages.

After losing bet after bet in 2022 to a friend who was taught by Jae, I started working with him during the 2023 golf season. Before that I was a high handicap golfer with a +23 index at the end of 2022. Under his guidance I had the best season of my life and am currently a 13 index. Jae makes understanding and creating a repeatable golf swing easy. Not playing golf growing up I never understood the inner workings of a golf swing. He. was able to translate the technical components while focusing on the feel required to improve my swing. I am hitting longer than I ever did in mytwenties and am finally a competitive player in golf groups. Looking forward to another great season and continued improvements.

I came to Jae about 3 years ago now, interested in improving my game to make golf more enjoyable for me. I have been around the game for the better part of 20 years and worked at a course previously but had never invested much into my actual golf game. I started in the winter program and results were immediate. I really appreciate how Jae didn't try to reinvent the wheel in terms of my swing, but he worked with what I had already. He's gotten me into better structure and with a few small tweaks I feel I have an actual repeatable swing that I can trust on the golf course. We do also discuss course management which is something I was completely lacking previously. My course knowledge has improved dramatically and every time I go out I have an actual game plan and also now have the shots to execute. I'm into my third year of lessons now and it''s the thing I look forward to most every week. I feel I'm a completely different player now and no longer feel embarrassed to go out and play. Our golf corporation has been taking group lessosn from Jae each spring for the past number of years. Our group has ranged from 4-10 and consists of 4 lessons of an hour duration. Jae works with us on the range, in the sand bunker, chipping, and a great lesson on putting. Our group is mostly seniors, and as our flexibility and loss of distance frustrates us all- Jae has been exceptionally patient and we have all benefited immensely. He is able to help each golfer with the attention we each require, and usually with a few easy adjustments we are playing more consistently and with less frustration!! We are already making plans for golf lessons next season.

Before I signed up for a golf lesson package with Jae, I had absolutely zero consistency off the tee. My approach was 50/50 and I was even more erratic around and on the greens. I remember my dad begging me to put my driver away on a vacation one year as he quickly grew tired of helping me look for all my errant tee shots. After Jae's teaching package, he has taught me how to control that drive, ironed out my approach and he is presently working with me on my short game with an added package. Jae comes to every class with excellent lesson plans and an incredible knack with adjusting to individual teaching styles. He just seems to know how to get that golf swing into muscle memory. He can also see any technical erros immediately after just a single golf swing. I have shaved off 10 stokes in under 18 months & thrilled with my golf game. I highly recommend hiring Jae, not only for a golf package purchase but for annual tune ups to keep the swing grooved.
